Communication during the tour between the tour and travelers, especially in relation to leaving/arriving details and posting places within the hotels caused problems multiple times. We lost time that could have been spent at our destinations. Knowing beforehand that our tour guides would not be native English speakers would have been verfy helpful to those of us who struggle with understanding unfamiliar accents. Having written daily details would have solved that problem.

Taste of Scotland & Ireland - 10 Days/9 Nightstour was good. But I was very upset with the fact that I was lied to about the Edinburgh Military Tattoo being included in m y tour., All some one with your company or CIE needed to do was tell me when I ask 3 different times to be sure I would see it and was told that I would, that I would need to take a later tour I would of have been happy to do so.

Best of Ireland and Scotland (15 Days)We really enjoyed our trip The Best of Ireland and Scotland (15 Days) with Trafalgar. The Travel Director was excellent, lots of knowledge of local history as well as overall in Ireland & Scotland. The Drivers were great, the Local Specialist were excellent as well. We know this going into the trip but the amount of time on the Coach was a lot. We will consider that in future trips. Overall we had an excellent experience!

Celtic HighlightsThe itinerary. I do not think we would have ever seen so much of these countries if we had tried to do this on our own. I did feel a little rushed sometimes and would have liked to stay another 30 minutes here and there. So I do think there could be some adjustments made for a few stops.

Highlights of Ireland and Scotland (11 Days)This is the best way to see Irelamd and Scotland. Trafager handles everything and Travel Diector , Rose Brown is the best. She makes the tour special for each participant and handles the tour like she is doing it for the first time. I have a degree in Environmental Interpretation and 40 years of experience and I have never seen a person handle public education opportunity better than Rose. She is a treasure and Trafager is fortunate to have her on their staff.

Best of Ireland and Scotland 2024 (15 Days)Ed and Nigel, our driver, were outstanding, as were the local experts. Recommend dropping Enniscrone from itinerary. Many of us wondered why we stopped there. It is on a beach but not a pretty one. One should not undertake this kind of a trip if one is seeking to relax; it is hard work being constantly on the move to a rigorous schedule in order to cram in all the “best of” sites in 3 countries. That is not a complaint, but an observation only. We are glad we went and learned a lot. Optional stick-on name/where from tags would help people get to know one another faster. Yes, you can ask; I don’t know about you but I cannot remember X 40-45 people easily! Making clear it is optional should circumvent invasion of privacy concerns. Finally, I booked this thru what I thought was Brendan. Talk about confusing! Your questionnaire - as we’re the people getting us at the airport - were TourRadar. Our tour guide and driver were from Trafalgar. I’m told there were corporate takeovers and shifts, that Brendan technically no longer exists, and I am STILL confused. There was no preparatory explanation and I would highly recommend some attention be paid to your branding profiles.

England, Scotland and Ireland end Dublin
England, Scotland and Ireland end DublinAll in all the tour was enjoyable. All 3 countries were beautiful but not enough overnight time was spent in key cities. We arrived to our hotels too late to go out to eat dinner in some locations. Then we were up and off to the next city or town the next morning. My phone kept dying so a charger and wifi on the bus would have been a benefit. Met some nice people and enjoyed time together. Our bus had several tour guides and people changes. Our pod on the bus lost its bubble of safety from covid. Came home ill. Overall, saw many places in 12 days. Eduardo was our favorite guide. He always made sure we knew the history before our next destination. The trip was well worth it in part due to him.

Scottish & Irish Dream - 14 Days/13 NightsFantastic Trip! Castles, churches, graveyards, stories, legends, history, double-distilled & triple-distilled whiskey, and my goodness/my guinness were all treasures. Onya, our Scotland guide was fantastic and would play folk music specific to the region we would be driving thru. Darragh, our Ireland guide & driver, gave us a great flavor of his country, and always put our comfort before his. John, our Scotland/N.Ireland/Dublin driver was fun, Safe, courteous, and fun. CIE had a wonderful luxury bus with big windows. CIE's logistics were perfect, with the right amount of time at each stop, with a full day of sight-seeing with the right amount of free time. Thanks Onya, Darragh, & John! Do it; you won't regret your decision!

Scottish & Irish Gold - 16 Days/15 NightsTook a small bus tour with 7 family and friends to Scotland and Ireland. I prefer not to do bus tours, but with a larger group, I think we made the right call with the small bus experience. You do change tour guides and some of the group leaves and others join you as the tour leaves Scotland for Ireland. The pace was about right with stops at least every 2 hours on long drives and we had plenty of free time in most cities. The sites and activities were well planned out. Tour directors are friendly and knowledgeable, but were not CIE employees, they are contracted out from other companies. Most of the tours will be self-guided, and while you stay in very nice hotels, as a tour group it can be hit or miss on the room you get (most of the time you do not get a view). Breakfast and dinners can be a bit redundant with choices, but quality was good. Clayton hotel in Dublin is more convenient for airport not tor touring downtown, so if you stay an extra day you may want to switch from this hotel to better enjoy the city. Overall, I found the tour to be good value for the money and would recommend to those not comfortable to travel alone or for larger groups traveling together.

Overall, the trip was terrific. The driver/tour guide, Joe, was excellent. He has a vast knowledge of the areas we visited, is very caring and competent, and made me feel safe as a solo traveler. He also has a great sense of humor. Some of the issues/changes I have identified are: 1) Cliffs of Moher stop was about an hour too long. We could have checked in at our hotel instead to rest up for the donner/show at the castle. 2) Grand Canal Cruise food was not that good. 3) Some days were quite long with a lot of bus time. Not sure what could be done about that. 4) Some hotel stays were just 1 night. Would prefer 2-night minimum to avoid constant packing and unpacking.
